Amalia Howard

Amalia Howard is an Indianapolis-based theatre and visual artist who is breaking into the writing world. She has a deep love of history and wants to tell stories that center women in the narrative, for good or ill. Amalia first heard the story of Belle Gunness on a true crime comedy podcast, and when she saw Southbank’s Making History contest she knew she had the perfect story to tell from her home state. Amalia graduated from Butler University’s Theatre Program, where she gained a deep appreciation for storytelling and had the opportunity to write her first one-act play. Outside of writing, you might catch her onstage around town or out hiking with her dog. She is very grateful to Southbank for this amazing opportunity, and is excited to see what the future holds for Hell’s Belle and more playwriting projects!
